Before using a Bambach

In January 2004, upon noticing that the posture of the majority of her staff was dangerously unhealthy, Sandie Wellman, Manager of the Chemotherapy Suite at Oxford’s Churchill Hospital arranged the purchase of six Bambach Saddle Seats for use by staff while administering drugs to patients.

“Back Care has always been an issue that has concerned me, particularly given we spend much of our time bending and twisting, seated in awkward positions”.

After using a Bambach

“I noticed the changes immediately in many of our staff as soon as they started using the Saddle Seat. Not only did their posture look a whole lot better but the staff themselves reported to be far more comfortable and more supported while also being able to freely use their arms while dealing with patients. The Bambach Saddle Seat places your back in the correct position as soon as you sit on it, and is a far cry from the ordinary stools and chairs that we used to use! We will be expanding the Fleet of chairs when the Chemotherapy Day Unit merges with the Haematology Day Unit next year, as I firmly believe people in this field of work should take extra precaution in the care of their backs”.
