Replacing Castors


 

Removing Castors from a Seat Base

 

1. Prepare the Area

      Place the seat on a stable surface and ensure it's secure to prevent movement.

2. Remove Push-Fit Castors

  • Grip the castor firmly and pull it straight out (Figure 1)
  • If stuck, you can either: 
    • use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry it loose (Figure 2), or
    • gently tap on the underside of the base with a padded stick (Figure 3)
  • If the peg detaches from castor (Figure 4) and remains in the frame, use pliers to remove it (Figure 5)

3. Clean and Inspect

      Check for debris and damage before replacing or reassembling

Fitting a New Castor


1. Insert the castor peg into the socket on the base

2. Push firmly in

3. Sit on seat to ensure that the peg is fully engaged
